New Year's goals

2013 is here!  I don't know about you, but I have big plans for 2013.  I am not usually one to make New Year's resolutions but this year I am.  I want to lose the little bit of baby weight that has stuck around.  Finish these crazy remodels.  Meet my savings goals for Beckett's college fund and our emergency fund (we are so close to having our 6 month goal met).  I also want to continue to grow my relationship with Christ and be the best mother I can be.  I don't think any of those goals are out of reach.  Wish me luck!

30 before 30 update (#3)

I thought it was time for a 30 before 30 update since I only have two more years to take care of business.

As of today, I was officially able to cross one more thing off my list.  I completed my bachelor's degree program and now have my BSRT.  When I started my BSRT, I had no idea how much my life would change.  I mean, I'm not even working full-time at this point.  However, I am glad I stuck with it and completed the degree program. Now we'll see if I can muster the strength to pursue becoming a Physician Assistant.

In November I will be able to cross list item #1 off the list.  I have been documenting my progress weekly and we are so excited for our family to grow.  That excitement may come from ignorance, but it will be interesting to say the least.

Before my 29th birthday I plan on crossing some more items off the list.  They include: making tortillas, finishing up my goal to read 30 books (I am so close), making a gourmet meal (I have all the tools, I just need to do it), finishing up all our remodeling projects (the back porch and an exterior rejuvenation are all that stand in my way), and learning how to make some cocktails (to celebrate the end of my baby-enforced sobriety).

So that is where I stand with the list.  I better get on it because 30 is knocking at my door.

30 before 30 update

So I posted my list at the beginning of the month and boy have I been busy! I haven't completed anything yet, but I have been working on quite a few.

I started a program to get my bachelors in Respiratory Therapy at the beginning of the month and I should be done in June. I am doing all my school online and so far so good! I hope to eventually go to PA school and this will definitely give me a leg up when I apply.

We are making plans to go to New York before Christmas. I am so excited and overwhelmed by all the things I want to do. On our list is: shopping, ice skating at Rockefeller Plaza, seeing the Christmas tree, Mary Poppins and Wicked on Broadway, more shopping, eating and maybe going to the Rockettes or the Nutcracker. Daniel is a great husband because what man really wants to see a Broadway show? I love New York and am ready to go back! I need to start coat shopping and soon.

I have been reading like crazy, but have a feeling that I will be slowing down now that I am back in school. I have read 15 books since April and have been getting my money's worth out of my Nook. If you haven't read the Hunger Game series, do it now. They are the best books I have read in years and you will thank me.

I was supposed to run the Las Vegas Rock n Roll half marathon in December but had a wrench thrown into those plans. I have to have surgery and won't be able to run for four to six weeks. You never know, maybe I will still be able to cross this goal off the list.

Finally, I started making something I found on Pinterest. I found a great Auburn door wreath and thought I would love to have one, but of course in red and black! I have it mostly done and will post pictures when it is complete.

Accountability

I am holding myself accountable. I will run a half marathon. I am putting this out there so I can't change my mind or give up in the home stretch, which is what I did last time. A friend and I have started training for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon in Las Vegas in December and with her help I will do this.

There, I said it and I can't take it back.
